Dessau Awarded Armatura for the Sept-Îles Multi-user Dock Project
In connection with the 14th edition of the Armatura contest, which took place on June 5, 2014, Dessau won an award of excellence in the Coup de cœur (special recognition) category, as determined by the Quebec Reinforcing Steel Institute (IAAQ), for the Sept-Îles Multi-user Dock Project.
In order to respond to the sharp growth in the iron-ore industry in Northern Quebec and Labrador, two major works, each structurally independent, were designed to accommodate boats of up to 360 m in length. The project, carried out jointly by Dessau’s Marine and Port team along with the Bridges and Civil Engineering Structures team, represents works valued at over $110M.
The project’s success lies in the quality of the work executed, the close collaboration developed between team members and the exceptional commitment by all project participants.
