DESSAU INC. SIGNS COMPLIANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE COMMISSIONER OF CANADA ELECTIONS AND UNDERTAKES TO RESPECT THE CANADA ELECTIONS ACT

This notice is given by Dessau Inc. (Dessau) to inform the general public that, on October 15, 2015, Dessau and the Commissioner of Canada Elections signed a compliance agreement under section 517 of the Canada Elections Act (Act).

The text of this compliance agreement is available on the website of the Commissioner of Canada Elections at www.cef-cce.gc.ca.

Dessau acknowledges that, between January 30, 2005 and May 30, 2008, an individual, who was not its employee but had operated under the direction or upon the instructions of one of its former officers, prompted employees and officers of Dessau to make political contributions to federal political entities and these donors had their contributions reimbursed by Dessau in the form of reimbursement of expenses related to their employment within Dessau. The contributions in question amount to $ 40 752.

Dessau undertakes to comply with the provisions of the Act prohibiting political contributions that do not come from individuals who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada. The Act prohibits any person or entity other than Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada from making political contributions. Moreover, it prohibits any person or entity from circumventing or attempting to circumvent or acting in concert with any other person or entity in order to circumvent or attempt to circumvent this prohibition. Finally, the Act prohibits any person or entity from hiding or attempting to hide the identity of the source of a contribution, or acting in concert with any other person or entity for such purpose.

Dessau is aware of the gravity of the facts at issue and undertakes to take appropriate measures to ensure full compliance with the Act and to ensure henceforth that its property or financial or other resources are not used directly or indirectly by anyone to make political contributions or to reimburse directly or indirectly, in any form whatsoever, the political contributions made by its employees or officers.

This notice is published in accordance with the abovementioned compliance agreement.
